Carpenter paces the Eagles with an average of 17.3 points a game. When he isn't scoring, he's setting up teammates, as his 7.7 average in assists also leads the team.

Juell L. Duncan, 82, of Neche, ND died on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Thursday, January 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Bruce Cemetery, Neche, ND. Arrangements with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Juell L. Linde was born May 25, 1925, at Greenbush, MN to Oscar and Mabel (Vore) Linde. She graduated from Neche High School and Moorhead State University. Juell then taught English and Physical Education. On June 27, 1949, she married James H. Duncan at Neche. After their marriage they lived in Neche. Jim died on September 23, 1997. Juell was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Neche. She is survived by her children, David (Robin) Duncan, Cavalier, ND; Jon (Beth) Duncan, Bemidji, MN; Daniel Duncan, Cavalier, ND; Jane Duncan, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Katherine Scotting and Laura Beach, both of Hutchinson, MN; Sarah Anderson, Hensel, ND; Curtis Crosby, Lacey Duncan, Rachel Duncan, and Rebekah Duncan, all of Cavalier, ND; great grandson, Zackary Jon Anderson, Hensel. She is also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kathleen Trenbeath and brother, John Linde. Clergy: Rev. Beth Peterson. Casket Bearers: Curtis Crosby, Mike Halldorson, Jim Hardy, Mark Hardy, Steve Karel, Danny Kihne, Doug Taylor, and Doug Vosper. Honorary Pallbearers: All of Juell's Beloved Friends and Special Caregivers. Music: Bettie Lou Stegman, Organist.

Beatrice A. “Beaty” Stegman age 89 of Neche, ND died on Thursday, January 3, 2008, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Sunday, January 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the funeral home for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Saints Nereus and Achilleus Catholic Cemetery, Neche, ND. Beatrice A. Hughes was born November 3, 1918, at Vang, ND to Alger and Sara (Thompson) Hughes. She grew up in the Vang, Leroy, and Tyner areas and attended school in Neche. On May 28, 1937, she married Harvey E. Douville at Neche. After their marriage they lived in Neche. In 1960, she attended beauty school in Thief River Falls, MN. Beaty owned a beauty shop in Neche and later at her farm home. Harvey died on May 20, 1962. She married William R. Stegman on December 21, 1963 at Neche, and he died March 29, 1993. Beaty loved painting, carpentry, and the rock garden she built on her farm home. She is survived by her children, Gary (Doreen) Douville, Seattle, WA; Pat (Eleanor) Douville, Joyce Lemier, all of Neche; Harvey (Elsa) Douville, Norco, CA; and Beatrice “Bubbles” (Kent) Trenbeath, Neche, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brother, Kenneth (Tess) Hughes, Seattle, WA. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Russell, and sisters, Eunice, Verna, Irene, Norma Jean, and Katie. Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich. Honorary Pallbearers: All of Beatrice’s Grandsons. Music: Connie Eagan, Soloist and Larry Collins, Organist.
