Winter Storm Warning - 4 to 8 inches of snow expected
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO NOON ON TUESDAY.
THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA AND PART OF NORTHWEST MINNESOTA BEGINNINGTHIS AFTERNOON AND LASTING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING. SNOWFALLTOTALS RANGING FROM 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE EXPECTED. THE MOSTSIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN AND NORTH OF THEDEVILS LAKE AREA AND EXTENDING ALONG THE CANADIAN BORDER INTO KITTSON COUNTY MINNESOTA. NORTHWESTERLY WINDS 20 TO 35 MPH...WITHGUSTS TO 45 MPH...WILL PRODUCE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTINGSNOW. VISIBILITIES WILL BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE HALF MILEESPECIALLY IN OPEN COUNTRY.A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSOPOSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
