Prep Football: North Border leads 32-0 in postponed game

WALHALLA, ND -- North Border and Dunseith will continue play of their Friday Class A football game on Saturday in Dunseith. With the Eagles up 32-0 half way through the 2nd quarter on Friday, the game was postponed by officials as large electrical sparks were observed on connecting wires along the light towers at the football field in Walhalla.
The game had begun at 6:40pm, about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, because three banks of lights lost power at the field. Play was stopped with 7:35 to go in the 2nd quarter so Otter Tail Power Company crews could work on the outage. During their work sparks lit up the sky along the connecting wires.
Game officials cited "Safety concerns" as the reason the game was postponed. The officials said the game would continue in Dunseith on Saturday at 3:00pm. According to the officials the game could not officially count as a win or loss if the game was not at least at halftime.
